During the Thanksgiving Holidays a number of injuries occur in automobiles as well as on individual premises.
The following are some safety tips which you should take into considerations. First, the main injuries occur while driving. There will be millions of people on the roads and everyone is in a hurry and distracted during the holidays. It is especially important to not drink and drive. I recommend that you always have designated driver.
Second, please do not ride with a distracted driver. I hope that some day the Florida Legislature passes a law that no longer allows you to use cell phones in your car such as California and Virginia. I believe that people talking on the cell phone are distracted and I recommend that you pull over when talking on the cell phone. Additionally, the fact that people text while driving is deadly. There is a number of recent accidents all over the country including bus drivers who are caught texting while driving a bus. Please do not let anyone text or talk on the cell phone during the Thanksgiving Day holiday while driving.
The third and final problem deals with fire. Many people have not used their fireplaces over the last six to seven months. I have represented many people who go to individual homes and their children fall into the fire because the fireplace is not adequately protected. Please make sure that you have a grill or some type of screen so that a young individual does not fall into the fire. I also recommend to always have a fire extinguisher ready.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving Holiday and spend time with your family and friends.
