Overview

Metro-Orlando has proven to be one of the fastest growing areas in the country. It is hard to ignore the sprawling growth happening in the outskirts of our city. Incoming Developments

  • Tavares, Lake County: Avalon Park Group has plans for a large residential community planned for area near Florida Hospital – with a smaller version of Orlando’s Avalon Park development that features about 1,000 homes. Permitting is in process for approval from Tavares.
  • Clermont: Clermont homebuilding remains active with three single-family developments underway as well as two multifamily projects on the boards, the Lofts and the Addison. Multifamily housing refers to housing where multiple, separate units for residential inhabitants are contained within one building. Popularity of multifamily housing is rising in Clermont, 4 new multifamily developments are approved for 2018. Single-family housing construction in Clermont includes a new phase for Mattamy Homes as well as continued construction by the developers at Highland Ranch.
  • Lake Nona: As one of the fastest growing communities in the country, more than $3 billion has been invested towards construction in Lake Nona over the last decade. Lake Nona has been developed by the group Tavistock. When complete, the development is expected to have 25,000 residents.
  • Sunbridge, East Orlando: Tavistock (the developer of Lake Nona) also plans to develop a new community called Sunbridge in Orange County’s Innovation Way Corridor in East Orlando. The development comes to fruition as a result of Tavistock’s partnership with Deseret Ranch.

Workers’ Compensation

Along with new developments comes a lot of hard labor. New construction crews continue to break ground on a daily basis. Unfortunately, along with massive construction projects likely comes workplace injuries. These injuries vary in severity and unfortunately, the developers do not always adequately compensate their injured workers. If you were injured while working on one of the many construction sites around Orlando, it is imperative that you contact a skilled, local attorney to represent your interests.
